CUCET — Entrance Examination for Admission to 54 Universities of the Country

New Delhi: - Under the recent reforms in the Indian education system, now for admission in undergraduate / integrated, post graduate and research studies in Central / State level universities of the country, All India Entrance Examination i.e. Central University Common Entrance Examination ( CUCET) is being organized. In a major change this academic year, a joint entrance examination has been named CUCET for admission to 54 central universities in the country.

Ankit Kapoor, managing director of First Test Prep said, 'It is anticipated that CUCET will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Recently the University of Delhi has also indicated to start the admission process through 12th exam marks and CUCET for the academic session 2021. However, CUCET is not believed to be a completely separate entrance exam, but central universities have been conducting it for admission till last year. The major change in this would be that earlier CUCET offline was conducted but now it is proposed to conduct this exam in the form of Computer Based Test (CBT) and complete information about this will be revealed soon.

Several suggestions have been made about the new education system (NEP), one of which is that the existing 10 + 2 system be changed to 5 + 3 + 3 + 4. It is also proposed to offer different degrees for graduate students in different years up to four years. If a student leaves the study within a year, he / she should be given graduation certificate. Similarly, Graduate Diploma should be given to students studying for two years. Degree should be given to the students who have completed the three-year course. It has also been proposed to conduct CUCET in NEP. '

Ankit Kapoor says, 'The new Education Policy 2020 proposes a joint entrance exam for higher education. This will eliminate the method of giving importance to marks in students. In recent years, we have seen that the cut-off of high marks for admission in Delhi University is going on and there is a lot of pressure on students and their parents to get good marks that somehow in DU colleges. They get admission.

Now there will be no pressure to enroll in any faculty, rather students can enroll in any faculty along with choosing a foreign language and there will be an emphasis on developing creative thinking in them.

With this, students will be able to keep knowledge of various subjects. For example, a student will be able to study mathematics as well as history subject. This is the most important recommendation in the new education system which has been named Multidisciplinary Education System.
